In his speech, the President reiterated that the special military operation aims to defend the Russian-speaking population and denazify the Russian regime, even though the West doesn’t give a damn about defending Ukraine and intends to destroy Russia.
In several paragraphs, Putin defended his strategy and showed the West’s failure to try to put an end to Russia.

Below, in Putin’s own words, we present the keys to the Russian President’s speech:
“In its unconditional support for Ukraine, the West is closing in on the fact that the Kiev authorities are promoting neo-Nazi ideology because it doesn’t care who it uses in its fight against Russia.”
“The G7 have committed $60,000 million to help the poorest countries and $150,000 million to wars. Where’s all the talk about poverty alleviation, ecology?
“The West has set up not only a military, informational, but also an economic front against us. But he hasn’t accomplished anything and won’t accomplish anything anywhere,” he said in his annual speech.

In his speech, the President noted that Russia’s GDP fell by 2.1%, adding that this is a much smaller decline than projected by the West, which predicted a 20-25% drop.
“Russian companies have rebuilt logistics and strengthened ties with reliable partners, which constitute the majority,” he noted.
“They have caused price increases, job losses, company closures and an energy crisis in their own countries and are telling citizens that the Russians are to blame.”
“What actions did they take against us in this sanctioning aggression? They tried to cut ties with Russian companies, cut off the financial system from communication channels in order to crush our economy, deprive us of access to export markets for revenue,” Putin said.

“The theft of our foreign exchange reserves cannot be forgotten either, I cannot describe it any other way. On the other hand, there are attempts to weaken the ruble and cause devastating inflation,” he said.
“We know that the West is directly involved in the Kiev regime’s attempts to attack our strategic airbases,” Putin said.
“The drones used for this were equipped and modernized with the help of NATO specialists,” who also “now want to inspect our defense systems.”
Putin announced that Russia is suspending its participation in the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty. “I repeat: it does not leave the agreement, but suspends its participation,” he declared during his speech.

Putin recalled that “it was taken a year ago to protect the people of our historical countries, ensure the security of our country and eliminate the threat posed by the neo-Nazi regime that emerged in Ukraine after the 2014 coup is the decision to conduct a special military operation”.
“We strongly defend not only our interests, but also our position that in the modern world there should be no division between the so-called civilized countries and everyone else,” the President said.
“We need an honest association that fundamentally rejects any exclusivity, especially aggressive ones,” he added.
