Farideh Muradkhani, Iranian activist and nephew of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, was sentenced by the Special Court for Clergy to 15 years in prison, later reduced to 3 years. The Iranian media reported, citing lawyer Mohammad Hossein Agassi. The woman was arrested on November 23 last year. Before ending up in jail, he had urged “freedom-loving” countries to expel Iran’s ambassadors in support of the Iranian people’s protests. Farideh is the daughter of Badri Hosseini Khamenei, sister of Ali, who has condemned the crackdown on protests in recent days.
