‘Let’s not discredit my years of training’: Khloe Kardashian slams claims she used diabetes medication to lose weight – after the TikTok craze her family sparked led to a shortage of the vital vaccine

Khloe Kardashian has hit back at claims she’s using a controversial diabetes drug to lose weight.

Last year, fans speculated that her sister Kim had used the drug to quickly lose 16 pounds in time for the Met Gala – inadvertently sparking a rush for the breakthrough anti-obesity drug and leading to a global shortage.

Kim later insisted she’d lost the weight in a healthy way – citing dieting, a sauna suit and running twice a day with the change – and now Khloe has also hit back at rumors she’s been using the drug.

The mum-of-two showed off her incredible abs in an Instagram post on Tuesday as she posed for Sorbet magazine – leading one fan to claim it was the result of taking semaglutide, known by the brand names Ozempic and Wegovy, the Helped people who take it lost nearly a fifth of their weight by suppressing appetite.

One follower commented: “The fact that she is using dibetic medicine to get so thin is disturbing [sic]’.

Khloe then clapped back, “Let’s not discredit my years of training. I get up at 6am 5 days a week to exercise. Please stop with your assumptions. I think New Year still means mean people.

Khloe also hit back at fans who claimed she “changed her face” after trying clip-on bangs for the shoot.

The 38-year-old reality star shared a snap of her new look in an Instagram post on Tuesday, as she credited the hairstyle with changing the “shape” of her face.

“Fun fact: I wore clip-on bangs on this shoot,” she wrote. “It was fun to give a different look and not commit yourself. I’m surprised how much I liked the bangs even though they changed the shape of my face.”

Many of her fans praised the bangs for making her look “younger” and more like Heidi Klum and Denise Richards, while others marveled at her striking resemblance to Taylor Swift in the picture.

Stars are turning to off-label $900-a-month weight-loss injections

The rich and famous are turning to the diabetes drug Ozempic as a fast-acting weight-loss solution.

Everyone from Hollywood stars to tech moguls are turning to the injectable drug to stay slim.

The drug with the active ingredient semaglutide is manufactured by the Danish pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk and costs around 900 dollars a piece.

Injected in the stomach, thigh, or arm, it quickly suppresses a person’s appetite – allowing them to lose weight quickly and easily.

The drug has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, which allows it to be used as an off-label weight loss supplement.

It costs about $950 for a month’s treatment — and since it’s used off-label, it goes a long way to covering the price from insurance.

It has still gained popularity as famous nutritionists report an increase in requests from their wealthy clients.

Demand for the drug has reached such heights that type 2 diabetics who need it for treatment are facing shortages.

The FDA has placed the drug and the similar Wegovy, also made by Novo, on its drug shortage list.

Still other followers were quick to note that they might see other changes, noting, “I don’t think it was the bangs that changed your face”; ‘literally who is that?’; “Ohhh, was it the bangs that changed your face so much in those pictures?”

While the post has apparently since been deleted, Just Jared claims Khloe responded: “I’m open about my nose job and anyone who ‘looks up’ to me needs to know that I’ve lost over 60 pounds over the years. Lately the only change is the bangs. I didn’t know I had to make a running list.

“Anyway, I think it’s sad to attack someone. Unprovoked is the saddest part. If you’re offended or don’t like what you see, just don’t say anything. I hope you have a great first week of the new year. Thanks for making mine so fun.”

It was revealed last year that a TikTok rush for the breakthrough anti-obesity drug had led to a global shortage, leaving desperate patients with serious health conditions like type 2 diabetes without vital treatment.

The drug went viral on TikTok over the summer as a boon to those trying to lose weight, and unsubstantiated claims that stars like the Kardashian family were using it for weight loss began to surface.

Glamor reports that Google searches for the drug boomed after Kim shared that she’d dropped her body fat percentage from 25 to 18, though she never confirmed using the drug.

Although Semaglutide is only approved for use in people with obesity who have health conditions, specialists can legally offer it to anyone they think might benefit – this is known as “off-label” use. It has allowed doctors to prescribe high-risk patients semaglutide as a preventative measure, rather than waiting for them to develop disease.

During the second season of The Kardashians, Kim Khloe revealed that her family was worried she was losing too much weight due to the stress surrounding the Tristan Thompson cheating scandal.

Khloe wasn’t sure how to react as Kim remarked, “You look very skinny.

“I’ll say that Kendall and Kylie – not that I’m trying to come out on them – but they wrote to me and said they’re a little worried about you because you’re really skinny.”

The scenes were filmed in February 2022, shortly after it was revealed that Tristan had impregnated a Texas personal trainer named Maralee Nichols.
