Khloe Kardashian and ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson’s second baby was conceived via surrogate before she learned he had fathered a child with fitness model Maralee Nichols in March 2021 while they were still together.
Following news that the 38-year-old reality star and the 31-year-old basketball player are expecting another child, fans were quick to point out that Nichols’ pregnancy predated the date Kardashian’s gestational carrier was inseminated.
Nichols, 31, welcomed her six-month-old son Theo with the NBA star on his 30th birthday in mid-March, just hours after he confessed his love for Kardashian under a sweet birthday present she shared on her Instagram.

Nichols gave birth to Thompson’s third child on December 1, although Tristan initially denied the child was his until receiving the results of a paternity test.
In January 2022, the Chicago Bulls star admitted to being Theo’s father and publicly apologized to Khloe for his repeated aproning.
“You didn’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I’ve caused you. You don’t deserve the way I’ve treated you all these years,” wrote Tristan, who has yet to meet little Theo.

Khloe previously revealed that she felt “numb” after her older sister Kim broke her the heartbreaking news of Tristan’s secret child.
“That was tough,” she told USA Today. “I think the first time [Tristan cheated] it was either Kendall or Kylie calling me. Now it’s good old Kim.’
Khloe said she’s now “gone numb” to the pain, but that doesn’t make it “easier” for her.

“When you’re hurt so many times — your reactions, your reactions to the same thing happening over and over again — it’s a numbing feeling,” the mother-of-one confessed.
After Khloe learned the news while cameras were rolling during the inaugural season of Hulu’s The Kardashians, Khloe admitted to Kim that she was “fine,” but said it was “so fucked up that society blames women for To be deceived.
“It’s disgusting and unfortunate for these people to talk about other people like that,” she said. “There is no empathy and no compassion. There’s just no sense of humanity.’
“Khloe, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartbreak and humiliation,” he said in a sycophantic apology

Meanwhile, Kim said she’s “proud of Khloe” for giving their relationship a second chance and knowing when to stop.
“Even after he stalked her and embarrassed her to death. When the whole world is looking at you, laughing at you, calling you all kinds of names – do you know how hard it is? It’s ten times harder to stay in a situation than to leave it,” said the mother of four.
Kardashian’s rep confirmed the news of baby number two in a statement to DailyMail.com, revealing the baby was conceived last fall.

The surrogate had to “go into labor early,” so it was a mad rush to the hospital.
Khloe was joined into the delivery room by her older sister, Kim Kardashian. When the baby arrived, she introduced her and Tristan’s four-year-old daughter, True, over FaceTime.
Tristan was not present for the birth but Khloe arranged for him to meet her son.
“I was torn between letting Tristan come to the hospital or not, but Tristan wants to be here, so I figured, why not let him come? I’ll never get that moment back,” she told viewers.

Khloe did not name her son at the time of his birth and the nickname is still unknown.
Khloe shared more details about the devastating moment when she learned Tristan had fathered a child with another woman, including the fact that the news broke just a week after the embryo transfer.
She said Tristan “encouraged her” to continue her surrogacy journey despite knowing as early as July 2021 that Maralee Nichols was pregnant.
Due to the drama, Khloe felt like there was a “dark cloud” hanging over her son’s arrival, and she originally didn’t want her family to throw her a baby shower.

She later allowed Kris to host the party, which the entire Kardashian-Jenner clan attended, hoping to change Khloe’s attitude.
Khloe hid the surrogacy news from the public — only telling her immediate family — for fear of being bombarded with online hate “for months”.
Despite the unconventional and heartbreaking circumstances, Khloe said her son’s arrival has allowed her to officially close that chapter and deal with the “trauma” caused by Tristan’s paternity scandal.
Khloe is also determined to forgive Tristan to keep moving forward.

The Halloween outing sparked reconciliation rumors, but sources told TMZ it was strictly co-parenting.
