Kidnapped Iranian immigrant: $100,000 reward offered

Ontario provincial police are offering a $100,000 reward to anyone who provides information to help locate a woman allegedly kidnapped by her Quebec ex-husband last winter.

Elnaz Hajtamiri, a 37-year-old Iranian immigrant, was reportedly kidnapped a year ago to the day in Wasaga Beach, Ontario by three people disguised as police officers. Her ex-spouse, Mohamad Lilo, is said to be part of the group that kidnapped the woman.

Lilo was arrested in Brossard last July before being repatriated to Ontario, where he pleaded not guilty to kidnapping and attempted murder charges against him.

According to authorities, Mohamad Lilo first attempted to kidnap his former spouse in December 2021 in Richmond Hill, Ontario. However, the attempt would have failed.

However, the woman had been severely beaten during the event.

The brutal attack took place in the garage of the apartment building where Elnaz Hajtamiri lived.
