At least nine people died and 16 were injured in yesterday’s attack by Ukrainian forces on the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol in occupied Crimea: the head of Ukrainian military intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, told Voice of America. Russian generals were also among the wounded, he emphasized.
“Among the wounded is the group commander, Colonel-General (Olexandr) Romanchuk, whose condition is very serious,” Budanov said. “The Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General (Oleg) Tsekov, is not conscious. The number of wounded among regular soldiers not employed at the headquarters is still being determined. These are military personnel on duty, security forces, etc.: (these) are not included in the list I announced.”
