Kiev: Three killed in bombing of 24 story building

Authorities in Kiev spoke of one of the deadliest air strikes in recent history: at least three people were killed in a central district of the capital when an inhabited building was bombed.

According to the capital’s prosecutor’s office, at least three people were killed and several others were injured in an air strike on Kiev.

A missile or drone hit a 24-story apartment building in the central Solomyansky district. Fire and smoke spread over three floors.

The explosion also caused extensive property damage in the vicinity of the building.

Anastasia, 30, also lived in the skyscraper: “I heard an explosion, then I smelled fire, I smelled fireworks. I got dressed, tried to go to the entrance, but it was impossible, everything was full of smoke, so I closed the door. I walked out the door and out onto the balcony because that was the only place you could breathe and I saw the anti-aircraft guns continue to fire missiles or drones.

According to the military administration in Kiev, around 20 new air strikes on the capital were repulsed.

There have also been Russian airstrikes on the city of Dnipro in central Ukraine and the second largest city in the east, Kharkiv.
