Heartbroken KIIS FM radio host announces shocking split from long-term partner: ‘I envisioned our life together’

Mitch Churi has ended his five-year relationship with boyfriend Haydn Hickson.

The radio host made the sad announcement alongside his co-stars Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne on his KIIS FM radio show The Pick Up.

The 27-year-old broke down in tears and was at times overwhelmed when he explained the two were “not in the same place” and decided to end the romance.

“I imagined our life together. It feels like a moderate heterosexual divorce. And we weren’t even married yet, but I envisioned our life together,” the heartbroken star said.

“I’ve been thinking about proposing, we’ve talked about child adoption and surrogacy,” he continued.

“You have this vision, the picture of your future life, and in one night it can be taken away.”

Mitch admitted he was still in love with Haydn, which made the breakup even harder.

“It’s so hard to end a relationship when you still love someone.” “We had so much love, and that’s what causes the confusion and the pain,” he said.

He also explained that the two used a spreadsheet to break down their belongings to work out who kept which item, a process he described as “terrible.”

The radio host went on to say that he came out as gay “because of the relationship” and that all of his experiences as a gay man were with Haydn.

As for the other issues their breakup brought, Mitch said he was processing the complex feelings that came with it.

Mitch ended the announcement by admitting he uses celebrity dating app Raya.
