Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” from Apple, Paramount and Imperative Entertainment has set a milestone, crossing the $100 million mark at the global box office through Thursday. The epic western crime saga enters its third frame $102.1 million worldwide, incl $45.3 million Domestic and $56.8 million from the international box office.

The film, starring Leonardo DiCaprio/Robert De Niro/Lily Gladstone, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and was released in cinemas worldwide at the end of October. The film had a good start abroad, especially for a period film with a long run and at a time when talent was unable to promote it due to the actors’ strike.

Until Thursday the most important markets are overseas United Kingdom ($8 million), France ($7 million), Germany ($4.5 million), Italy ($4.1 million/handled by Leone), Spain ($3.5 million), Australia ($3 million), Netherlands ($1.8 million), Mexico ($1.8 million), Brazil ($1.5 million) and the United Arab Emirates ($900,000).

There’s still room in the market without any major tentpoles until Disney/Marvel’s “The Marvels” begins its release on November 8th. Meanwhile, a streaming date for “Killers of the Flower Moon” on Apple has not yet been set. And the enthusiasm for awards could influence this change.

Based on a true story and told through the unlikely romance of Ernest Burkhart (DiCaprio) and Mollie Kyle (Gladstone), Killers of the Flower Moon follows the suspicious murders of members of the Osage Nation who became some of the richest people in the United States overnight to the world after oil was discovered beneath their land.
