Villanelle and Eve’s cat-and-mouse game continues in the third episode of the fourth season of Killing Eve, which aired on Sunday.

In the episode titled “Rainbow in Beige Boots,” Villanelle (Jodie Comer) seeks help from therapist Martin (Adil Akhtar) after a double murder in last week’s episode.

Tied to a garden chair and unsurprisingly dubious, Martin tells Villanelle that her desire to talk is a good sign, as the expert insists that real psychopaths don’t want to change their lifestyle.

However, Villanelle admits that she is still obsessed with Eva (Sandra Oh), describing her as “a rainbow in beige boots”.

Elsewhere, Eva tells Villanelle, “I should have done it when we first met,” in a moment that resembles the couple’s therapy while inside Martin’s property as he lies unconscious on the floor.

And while some viewers may mistake this for an intimate moment between the couple, or even that Eva is actually about to kill Villanelle, she soon realizes that Eva turned her in to the police.

Soon, armed policemen in tactical gear burst in to arrest Villanelle and take her handcuffed to a lonely prison cell.

While Villanelle has previously been imprisoned in Russia as part of a mission, this is the first time she has been held captive by the authorities against her will.

Throughout the episode, Eva tries to track down sadistic French Helene (Camille Cottin), leaving her seemingly too busy to think about Villanelle.

In the second episode, Eve tracked Helen to an apartment in Paris with the help of her colleague and occasional privileged friend Yusuf as she continues her search for the elusive Twelve.

Once there, Helen – a single mother – reveals that she is responsible for the murders of members of the various Twelve members, uncovered by Eve’s former boss, Caroline.

However, this week it turns out that Villanelle’s lust for Eve’s attention while Eve was on a mission has been her undoing for now.
