In order not to affect Rocket’s playoffs, Groupe Yvon Michel (GYM) has decided to postpone Kim Clavel’s next fight, now scheduled for May 12th, by two weeks at Laval’s Place Bell.
Should the farm club Montreal Canadiens win their first-round series against the Utica Comets, there could have been a conflict between an upcoming home game and the gala taking place on April 28th.
“Participation in the Laval Rocket playoffs at Place Bell has made availability of the scheduled April 28 date uncertain. As such, we have postponed this important 15-day boxing gala to Friday, May 12, which is available and without the possibility of conflict,” GYM President Yvon Michel said in a press release on Tuesday.
WBC and WBO No. 1 flyweight champion Clavel (16-0-1, 3 KOs) meets American Naomi Arellano Reyez (9-2-0, 5 KOs) . The 32-year-old Quebecer suffered a loss to WBA champion Yesica Nery Plata in her last bout on Jan. 13, losing her WBC belt in the process.
