The train
The dictator’s train, consisting of dozens of olive-green cars with white-painted roofs, is fully armored from the windows to the walls and floor to protect the leader from bullets and explosives. But its functions are not limited to this. According to the South Korean Unification Ministry, it has offensive weapons and a helicopter and can also easily change course in the event of an unexpected event. The exact composition of the interior is not known, but a video shot during the onboard meeting between Kim and a key Chinese official during his first state visit to China in 2018 shows a train car with pink seats.
On the plane
The North Korean leader visited military and civilian aircraft production facilities in the Russian Far Eastern city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The Moscow government announced this on its website. Russian agency Tass explains that Kim was accompanied by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, who also serves as Minister of Industry and Trade. The North Korean head of state visited, among other things, the production of the Su-35 and Su-57 fighter jets as well as the SSJ passenger aircraft. He also witnessed a Su-35 demonstration flight.
The crew pursues
Another video is constantly circulating on social media. In the pictures, some media workers can be seen busy recording a farewell ceremony marking Kim’s departure to Vladivostok. However, the film crew does not notice that the train has left. At this point, officers began pursuing the vehicle and managed to board when the train was already moving.
