Kim Kardashian didn’t think she was getting down to anything serious when she started dating Pete Davidson.
“I think, you know, sometimes things happen when you least expect them. That was the last thing I really planned,” Kardashian, 41, said of her blossoming romance with the Saturday Night Live star on Monday’s episode of Hoda Kotb’s Making Space podcast.
“And when it happened, we were like, ‘Oh my god, I didn’t plan that. And that’s not even what I was thinking about.’”
However, Kardashian said the surprise of it all only makes their relationship that much better.
“It just makes it so much cuter and so much more fun,” she said.

While Kardashian, 41, and Davidson, 28, made their public debut as a couple last week, the reality star admitted she’s not ready to fully publicize everything about their relationship just yet.
“I think I hold certain aspects of my relationship with Pete a little bit closer to my heart and it feels good just to know that we have this connection and we have our little bubble of a relationship world that we live in, that not many people know about,” she explained.
“Sometimes things happen when you least expect it,” she told the Today Show
For now, the beauty mogul gushed about how much she loves spending time with her “SNL” beau, explaining that even the most menial tasks are fun with him by her side.
“We were driving in the car yesterday and I just looked at him and said, ‘Thank you.’ And he said, ‘What?'” she shared. “And I said, ‘For errands with me. This is so much fun just going to a doctor’s appointment or the dentist and just running errands. I’m having so much fun.'”
Kardashian admitted that she “took [her] Time” to focus on herself before even contemplating the idea of dating someone else after filing for divorce from Kanye West in February 2021.

“It took me, you know, 10 months or so before I dated or spoke to anyone. And I just wanted that time to really figure out and go through the moves, ‘Am I making the right decision? How does that make me feel?’” she said. “So when I went through all the steps, I finally thought, ‘Okay, guys, I’m so ready to meet someone.’ And I happened to do that.”
The Skims founder also shared some dating advice for those going through their own breakup.
“We all know someone who’s been through a really tough time in relationships, and everyone’s been okay and everyone comes out okay,” she said. “So you just have to let yourself go and open yourself up to receiving and just being a good person, and you’re going to get that back.”

Earlier Monday, Kardashian shared PDA-filled photos with Davidson from their most recent pizza dinner date, captioned “late night snack.”
The duo began dating in October 2021, nearly eight months after she filed for divorce from West, 44, with whom she shares four children: North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2.
Things appear to be on the up for the couple, as Davidson has reportedly met Kardashian’s eldest daughter.
