The news – first reported by TMZ – comes a year after the reality star filed for divorce and almost a month after Ye blocked the claim, citing concerns about shared assets (although it was later revealed through their previous marriage that their finances have largely been separated).
Earlier today, in a statement to Hollywood Unlocked, Ye said she “asked my team to speed up the dissolution of my marriage to Kim so I can focus all my attention on our beautiful children.”
Ye and Kim were married in 2014, and the beauty tycoon filed for divorce after nearly seven years of marriage in February 2021, citing “insurmountable differences.”
However, the rapper did not confirm the application until November, claiming that he “never saw” the divorce papers.
Just then, a month later, Kim filed new documents to be “legally unmarried,” adding that “no advice or reconciliation effort” would save the couple’s marriage. At the time, Kim was romantically involved with Pete Davidson as Ye made public requests to reunite with her estranged ex.
And although he rejected the offer only weeks ago, Kim is now legally separated from her ex. “I really want to get a divorce. I asked Kanye to keep our divorce a secret, but he didn’t, “Kim said in the new documents.
And now that she is legally unattached, Kim’s wish has been granted!
