Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson’s romance is over.
The duo, who were first romantically linked in October 2021, ended their relationship this week, a source told PEOPLE.
“Part of the reason for the split was their busy schedules,” says an insider. “They both travel all the time and it was tough.”
E! News was the first to report Kardashian, 41, and Davidson’s split.
Representatives from both stars did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Kardashian and the 28-year-old Saturday Night Live comedian shared an onscreen kiss for a sketch during the SKIMS mogul’s SNL hosting debut on Oct. 9, 2021.
Kardashian later recalled the moment on Amanda Hirsch’s Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast in April 2022. “When we kissed, I was like, ‘Hmm!’ It was a kiss on stage, but it was still like a bit of zing. It wasn’t anything like a super crazy feeling. I just said, “Hmm,” and then I said, “Wow, I really did.” I haven’t kissed anyone in 10 years so maybe I’m just stupid and it’s just nothing and it’s just a stage kiss,” she said at the time.
The duo then made headlines when they were spotted holding hands on a roller coaster at Knott’s Scary Farm in Buena Park, California in October 2021, as seen in exclusive photos from PEOPLE.
The two continued to spend time together after Knott’s Scary Farm, even as Kardashian traveled to Davidson’s home of Staten Island, New York, the next month for dinner at Campania, an Italian restaurant.
The couple were then spotted in Palm Springs the following weekend, holding hands and smiling, and continued to remain close over the following weeks, even kicking off the new year with a brief trip to the Bahamas.

Then, in February of this year, during a chat with PEOPLE (The TV Show!) host Kay Adams, Davidson opened up about living in the spotlight and hanging out with “girlfriend” Kardashian.
“Well, I don’t really have Instagram — I don’t have Instagram or Twitter or anything. So most of my daily life is getting in cars and showing up to a set,” the comedian said.
“Or, when I have free time, I just either hang out with my friends or chill inside with my girlfriend. So I don’t do much,” he continued, making the first public reference to Kardashian by the title.
The couple later made their Instagram debut on March 11, with Kardashian sharing two photos of Davidson.
Kardashian and Davidson also turned up at the 2022 Met Gala for a starry date night. Though Kardashian’s decision to wear Marilyn Monroe’s dress may have been controversial, her night out with Davidson was nothing but a smooth running as her date showered her with affection and helped her climb the famous steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in her form-fitting dress navigate.

The Kardashian and Davidson relationship was the first for the Kardashians star following her split from Kanye West. Together, the couple have daughters North, 9, and Chicago, 4, and sons Saint, 6, and Psalm, 3.
The mother-of-four filed for divorce from West, 45, in February 2021. A source previously told PEOPLE that Davidson was “exactly what Kim needed after their divorce.”
“Someone to make them laugh and just have fun,” the source said at the time. “The end of her marriage was a very dark time for her and Pete was the best antidote.”
