Kim’s path to end her marriage to the rapper first began in February 2021 when she filed for divorce. Since filing, Kanye has publicly dragged on with the divorce, occasionally making his desire to return to the mogul on social media and then accusing her of wrongdoing. Even with the pending divorce, Kim continued to take steps to separate herself from the Chicago native. Back in December, the mother-of-four petitioned to be declared legally single as she continued to work on her divorce from Kanye. On Wednesday, a judge ruled that Kim’s marital status was single, allowing her to legally drop Kanye’s surname “West.”

With millions of followers, the natural next step for the Kardashian star was to change her Instagram to reflect her single status. Entertainment Tonight reports that Kim has now reverted to her social media maiden name and removed the word “West” from her name. In her Instagram biography, Kim still advertises her company KKW Fragrance, which represents her initials with her married last name. It’s not yet clear if Kardashian will go ahead with renaming her million-dollar beauty brands. But when asked in court, Kim clarified that neither time nor counseling will save Kime’s marriage.
It seems Kanye has finally acknowledged that his relationship with Kim is long past the point of no return. The hip-hop icon has reportedly fired numerous lawyers during a drawn-out divorce battle, but has now settled on Samantha Spector, who will represent him in the future. In a statement to Entertainment Tonight, Kanye said, “I have asked my team to expedite the end of my marriage to Kim so that I can fully focus on our beautiful children.” Kim, who has clearly moved on from her 6-year marriage, said declaring her legally single “will help Kanye accept the fact that our marital status is over and move forward on a better path that will help us raise our children peacefully.” .”
