On Monday, The Kardashian star announced that her underwear brand Skims has been named the “official underwear partner” of the NBA, the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) and USA Basketball.
In a statement released by the NBA this week, the brand founder said: “I am incredibly proud of SKIMS’ partnership with the NBA as it reflects SKIMS’ growing influence on the culture.” Together, SKIMS and the NBA serve people from all walks of life through fashion, sport and talent, and I look forward to seeing this partnership blossom.”
This isn’t the brand’s first collaboration with a sports team. In 2021, Skims was responsible for designing official underwear, pajamas and loungewear for Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics.
Additionally, news of the partnership comes just days after the launch of Skims’ first men’s underwear. NBA player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, among others, took part in the campaign.
Regarding the collaboration, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver promised “unique experiences, new offerings and premium products.”
Kim Kardashian founded Skims as a shapewear brand in 2019, but has since expanded into underwear and loungewear.
