Kim Zolciak is calling off her divorce from husband Kroy Biermann… as the couple try to work things out

Kim Zolciak and her estranged husband, Kroy Biermann, are giving marriage another try.

The 45-year-old Don’t Be Tardy star filed Friday to have her divorce petition against the 37-year-old athlete dismissed, according to TMZ documents.

The feeling appears to be mutual, as sources close to the couple also revealed that Kroy plans to file his own paperwork to have his divorce petition dismissed.

The reunion comes after the couple reunited publicly for the first time since filing for divorce on Sunday to attend church in Atlanta with their four youngest children.

The sources added that the animosity between the two has disappeared and they are getting along much better now.

They added that their four youngest children – sons KJ, 12; Cash, 10; and Kane, nine; are, along with his twin sister Kaia, one of the biggest motivators for her to find a way to stay married.

The sources also claimed that Kim and Kroy’s love for one another has never been questioned and they still have a lot for each other.

However, it’s a shocking turnaround after sources told TMZ back in June that the couple “hates each other.”

In May, shortly after Kim first filed for divorce, it was said they were “avoiding each other” though they continued to live together in their Atlanta mansion.

It’s unclear what exactly changed between the pair that helped keep them from falling apart.

Her Sunday reunion with her youngest children now seems to be a signal that they were ready to get back together.

Despite the argument between the two, who quarreled over parenting and Kim’s alleged gambling problems, they were polite enough to take the kids to dinner after the service.

The couple’s unity came when sources revealed that despite the heated divorce, the duo are prioritizing their children.

“Despite what Kim and Kroy are going through, they will always put their children’s needs ahead of everything else,” an insider told Us Weekly. “That’s their top priority no matter what, and what will help them move forward together.”

“Regardless of how they feel about each other, they are determined to remain friendly when it comes to their children,” the source added.

The fact that the two now want to stay married is all the more shocking considering they recently had to embroil law enforcement in their dispute.

In June, Kim called Kroy’s 911 emergency number and claimed he had accused her of kidnapping her eldest son, KJ, TMZ reported.

She told the operator that she allowed a friend to take her son to a rodeo play date, but after hearing about the trip, Kroy allegedly threatened to file a kidnapping lawsuit against the woman who took KJ to the rodeo.

“Not only was he molesting the mother, but my son is shaking and crying hysterically and I’ll just pick him up but I don’t know what else to do at this point,” Kim claimed in the call.

“It’s petty and I hate calling the police … Honestly, I don’t think that’s going to be the end,” she added.

Kim also accused her future ex-husband of stealing one of her purses, which contained divorce papers, when she called.

The couple have also suffered from money issues in recent months.

In late June, Kim was sued by Target National Bank, the organization that operates Target credit cards, for allegedly failing to pay a balance of $2,482.24 on her card.

Just days earlier, Kroy got into trouble when he was sued by a casino line of credit in the Bahamas.

He borrowed more than $100,000 for a gambling trip to the Bahamas but never paid back the money, according to a copy of the lawsuit obtained by TMZ.

Gambling issues appear to be at the heart of Kim and Kroy’s disputes. During her ugly divorce, a year-old tweet from her eldest daughter Brielle resurfaced, in which she claimed her mother made her wait in the car for hours while she gambled until 3am after driving to a North Carolina casino.

In May, Kroy alleged in court filings that his estranged wife had a “compulsion to gamble” and had spent large amounts of money on the habit in recent years.

He also claimed that the time she spends gambling makes it impossible for her to adequately care for her children and urged the judge overseeing her divorce that she undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

In June, received photos of Kim withdrawing wads of cash from a Bitcoin ATM twice a week.

She first withdrew a sizable stack of what appeared to be $50 bills before returning two days later for more cash.

The day between her withdrawals, Kroy was seen leaving a marriage counseling session alone, as Kim apparently did not attend.

In late May, Kroy claimed Kim was stricken with a gambling addiction that had “financially ruined her family,” according to legal filings obtained by TMZ.

He claimed that his estranged wife displayed “very disturbing behavior” and he claimed the significant amount of time and money she wasted gambling online has turned into a “compulsion”.

The former NFL star also claimed that the gambling problem affected her ability to effectively care for her teenage children.

But Kim has also hinted that her once-estranged husband was endangering their children’s safety by using marijuana, which is illegal in her home state of Georgia, aside from a cumbersome process to acquire legal medical marijuana.

She said she saw him smoke the drug and claimed, according to Radar, that she was worried about her children’s safety because of it.

In a court filing, Kim asked a judge to force her husband to undergo a five-step hair follicle drug test. The test shows marijuana use going back about 90 days, while a urine test only shows marijuana use dating back several days.

Despite its alleged concerns, the drug is legal in 23 states plus Washington, DC and Guam. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 48.2 million people, or 18 percent of Americans, used marijuana at least once in 2019.

Kim filed for divorce on May 8, 2023, but close observers of the family had been sensing trouble for some time as they denied reports that their Atlanta mansion was going to be foreclosed on.

The couple also reportedly owes over $1.1 million in unpaid taxes, although they reportedly failed to make payments in 2013, 2017, and 2018.

Sources close to the couple claimed that cheating wasn’t a problem, but their money problems had been smoldering for a long time.
