King Charles III couldn’t invite Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to his coronation because of their Netflix documentary, a royal expert has claimed.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said it was “business as usual” for the royal family at the moment – after the senior members had all stepped out and continued their engagements following the trailers for the Sussexes’ six-part docuseries.
However, he warned The Firm against continuing this approach indefinitely, claiming that further attacks from Harry and Meghan could see the royals sever “all ties” with the US-based couple.
He told The Sun: “The question is, what can the royals do about it? Harry will always be a prince. The only thing they can do is not invite her to the coronation and cut all ties – a clean cut from the Sussexes. Basically that’s all they can do.’

However, the expert admitted he doubted the royal family would release a statement following the explosive documentary, which is due to be released on Thursday.
“It is not in the interests of the royal family to speak out except under the most extreme of circumstances,” he said. “It would be an international circus. It’s a no-win situation for the royal family.’
The royal family braces for more attacks from Meghan and Harry when the first episode of their “explosive” Netflix series is released, with the duke speaking of a “family hierarchy”, a “dirty game” and warning: “We know the full truth”.

In October, a former Kensington Palace press secretary said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who attended Charles’s coronation, were yet to be seen because “a lot of water has yet to run under this bridge”.
dr Ed Perkins told Good Morning Britain it was unclear if the couple would be invited or could travel from California to attend the May 6 occasion.
The former royal adviser, who was deputy press secretary for the Queen and then press secretary for Princes William and Harry, said: “The idea of anyone understanding at this point whether Harry and Meghan will be attending would be taken with a great pinch of salt.
“There are still months before a lot of water has to run under this bridge. Opportunities may still arise. We have to see.’
King Charles’ coronation will take place on Saturday May 6 next year – the fourth birthday of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son Archie. The Queen Consort will be crowned with the monarch at Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace said.
Elsewhere, a royal expert has claimed Charles would be “triggered” to strip Harry and Meghan of their royal titles if they “directly attack” the Princess of Wales in their Netflix docu-series.
Royal commentator Michael Cole hinted to GB News earlier this week that removing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s titles was an “option” for Charles after the release of their new TV special and Harry’s forthcoming memoir, Spare.
In the second trailer for her documentary series – which lands on the streaming platform tomorrow morning – Prince Harry blew up the “pain and suffering of women getting married into this institution” when footage was shown of Kate marrying a 2007 was subjected to “feeding frenzy” by photographers.
Meanwhile, pundits have speculated that the “awkward” documentary series will touch on the Princess of Wales’ life before she married into the royal family.
Royal experts have suggested the Princess of Wales may find her inclusion in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new Netflix docu-series “uncomfortable”. Last night at the Diplomatic Corps reception at Buckingham Palace
Mr Cole said the palace’s response to the Lady Susan Hussey scandal showed they were not afraid to act quickly in the face of a crisis – and would do the same to protect Kate.
He explained: “We have seen the speed at which Buckingham Palace has moved to get rid of Lady Susan Hussey over the weekend after just 60 years of service to the crown.
“We’ll have to see what’s in there, but it looks like it’s a bare-knuckle fight with the gloves off.”
Last week, Prince William’s godmother, 83, resigned after repeatedly urging British black domestic violence activist Ngozi Fulani about where she is “really” from during a reception at Buckingham Palace.
Royal expert Michael Cole said King Charles (pictured yesterday) could be “triggered” to strip the pair of their titles if they “directly attack” his daughter-in-law the Princess of Wales.
Shortly after the incident broke, the palace issued a statement saying it had taken the complaint “extremely seriously” and immediately launched an investigation.
Employees were “reminded of the diversity and inclusivity guidelines that they must adhere to at all times,” a spokesman said.
Although the royals may be trying to adopt a ‘never complain, never explain’ mentality in the face of new bombshells from Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, Michael said it will be harder to keep calm when the documentary The Princess of Wales attacks.
Additionally, the expert warned that Charles might even consider revoking the couple’s titles after the release of the documentary and the release of the Duke’s forthcoming memoir, Spare.
The expert continued: “He may remove the title HRH, Her Royal Highness, His Royal Highness. It was done when Diana got divorced immediately… that’s big medicine, that means something very much.

“The king has that sanction, or maybe they’ll try never to explain, never to act on it. I think it would be difficult for them to do that.
“This is triggered when there are direct attacks on him [Prince William’s] Mrs Catherine, the Princess of Wales, I think that might trigger it.
Yesterday, Newsweek’s chief royal correspondent, Jack Royston, told Good Morning Britain the content of the trailer suggests the documentary series will touch on the life of the Princess of Wales before she married into the royal family in 2011.
He explained: “We had Kate in both trailers. The latest has a slogan underneath it, which is a headline from a magazine cover.
“This particular magazine contained a claim that the Queen was ashamed of her and photos of her drunk in public were on the front page.

“So if they go into the early days of Kate and William’s relationship, it could be very awkward.”
Mr Royston also predicted that Netflix would revisit a story from 2018 that claimed Meghan made Kate cry when she unfavorably compared Princess Charlotte to her best friend’s daughter during a bridesmaid fitting.
He added, “In the Oprah interview that was described as a big turning point where everything changed, Harry says, ‘That was the turning point’ in this latest Netflix trailer – they don’t say what he’s talking about but kind of knows.” you already do.’
The royal family will hope to distract from the chatter surrounding the documentary when they gather around the Princess of Wales for her carol service at Westminster Abbey on December 15 – the same day that the second series of episodes aired on TV -Special lands on Netflix.
Kate, 40, recently announced she will be including O’ Come, All Ye Faithful in the service after asking Good Morning UK viewers to choose one of three Christmas carols. It airs on ITV1 on Christmas Eve.
The purpose of the service is to recognize the selflessness of individuals and communities in the UK and to highlight the importance of supporting others in difficult times.
The event, led by the Royal Foundation-backed Princess of Wales Band, will showcase the “joy” of coming together in friendships and community events that support people in times of difficulty and loss.
