11.18am – Prince Andrew is booed as he walks past The Mall
The PA news agency reported that Prince Andrew, Queen Elizabeth’s third son, who was falling on hard times following the sex scandals surrounding the Epstein trial and allegations of molestation of a minor, was booed as he was escorted through the Mall. Andrea will attend the coronation ceremony but will not play a formal role, as will Harry, Charles and Diana’s second son.

10:03 am – Princes Harry and Andrea will have no official role
Harry, the younger son of King Charles III, whose disagreements with the royal family have been known for some time, and Andrea, the king’s brother, who is already deprived of public engagements, will have no official roles at the coronation, the palace confirmed yesterday. 09:45 – The leader of the Republican movement has been arrested
The leader of one of Britain’s main republican movements, Graham Smith, was arrested along with five other protesters during an anti-monarchy demonstration en route to King Charles’ coronation procession. According to the Guardian, Smith was pulled over at around 7.30am local time after carrying a bullhorn at the peaceful demonstration, which saw hundreds of anti-monarchists holding banners and T-shirts that read ‘Not My King’ gathered in Trafalgar Square.

“The coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla will be a moment of extraordinary national pride.” British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said so in a comment published on the night.
