(CNN) – King Charles III will go to hospital next week for treatment of an enlarged prostate, the PA news agency reported, citing Buckingham Palace.
From Buckingham Palace they reported that the king was being treated “like thousands of men every year” and that his condition was “benign.” In addition, they stated that the hospital visit served as a “corrective procedure.”
They added that the 75-year-old British ruler's public appearances will be postponed for a short period while he recovers.
News of King Charles' impending treatment came shortly after it was revealed that his daughter-in-law, the Princess of Wales, will remain in hospital for up to two weeks.
