A kitten meowed desperately for two days and got stuck at the bottom of a rain drain. Very quickly, several people responded to a resident’s call to see him and joined their efforts in hopes of saving him.

A kitten trapped in a sewer was not only rescued safely, but adopted in the process. All of this is thanks to local residents who mobilized via social media, WRDW reported.

The crimes happened in Augusta in the state of Georgia (USA). A woman had recognized the plight of the little cat who had been trapped in a stormwater drain for at least two days. She had asked for help in a local Facebook group.

The little tuxedo cat “was very bad and couldn’t get him out, so she begged for help to save him,” says Robin Cole of the kitten and the lady who created the SOS team.
Robin Cole is one of the people involved in saving the young twink. Becca Gulino too. She was also the first to be there after seeing the release in question. As soon as she finished her day’s work, she went to the shaft and got to work.
“When you’re there, hearing his little meow and seeing his eyes from afar, you tell yourself you just have to go,” she says.
Becca Gulino descended the line along with other residents, including Isaiah Smith. The latter says he “can see the kitten’s eyes, but [n’arrivait] not to make him do it [lui] because he was afraid.

They spent almost three hours in this wet and dirty sewer. They had all decided not to come out without the little four-legged friend in their arms. In particular, to attract him, they broadcast meow shots and placed cat food.
The group eventually managed to retrieve the kitten and bring it to safety. A parishioner adopted him right after the rescue.

“When everyone works together, it restores faith in humanity,” says Robin Cole.
