KJ Jackson signs Arkansas – 247Sports

Arkansas landed another four-star title for the Class of 2024 Sunday as Montgomery (Ala.) St. James quarterback KJ Jackson committed to the Razorbacks.

Jackson, 6-3, 215, went public with his decision through a live announcement on Easter Sunday at around 5:30 p.m., becoming the Hogs’ fifth verbal commitment for the Class of 2024.

He chose the Razorbacks over fellow finalists North Carolina, as well as scholarship offers from Ole Miss, Penn State, Louisville, Kentucky, West Virginia, Kansas and several others.

Jackson was offered by new Arkansas offensive coordinator Dan Enos in early March and made a two-day visit with the Hogs last week.

“It makes me feel great,” Jackson said of Enos’ offer. “I know I’m a priority for him and Coach Pitt. Coach Pitt spoke about how much he loves everything I’ve done.

“Honestly, there are some places that just throwing the ball makes you feel good, and Arkansas was definitely one of those places. I felt like that day, I had good stuff, I felt comfortable throwing it. Even in training fields, to be honest it means a lot to me to feel comfortable in an environment, I definitely felt comfortable there.

“So coach Enos comes in with his high CV, that means a lot to answer your question.”

According to 247Sports, Jackson is a four-star prospect, the No. 17 quarterback in the country and the No. 20 prospect in the state of Alabama for the Class of 2024.

The industry-compiled 247Sports Composite ranking lists him as the #391 player in the nation, #24 among quarterbacks, and #23 in his home state.

As a junior, Jackson threw for 2,813 yards and 42 touchdowns against just 7 interceptions. He also added another 171 yards and 6 touchdowns as a runner.

With the addition of Jackson, the Class of 2024 in Arkansas moves up from 26th to 20th nationally and from 10th to 7th in the SEC. Four of the Hogs’ first five signings have come from four-star prospects, including Jackson, Leeds (Ala.) defenseman Kavion Henderson, Ocean Springs (Miss.) St. Martin athlete Noreel White and Batesville (Miss.) South Panola track and field athlete Julius pope

The Razorbacks also have an early commitment from three-star defenseman Dion Stutts of Memphis (Tenn.) MUS.

HawgSports will hear more about Jackson’s involvement in the coming days, but here’s an updated look at the Razorbacks’ updated bursary distribution ahead of the 2023 season:
