Klara Castanho Opens Up About Character Abuse, Opening Up “I’m Glad It’s Mine”

In the plot, she brings Ângela to life, a girl who is abused by her father, the religious leader Matias (Reynaldo Gianecchini). On June 25, Klara Castanho published an open letter to fans with a powerful account of the sensitive moment she has been experiencing over the past few months. The artist revealed that she became pregnant after being raped and voluntarily put this baby up for adoption due to the aggression something provided for in the Children and Youth Statute. She also denounced how a nurse would have approached her and threatened to reveal this whole story to the press even while she was in hospital. The outbreak came after Antônia Fontenelle and journalist Leo Dias released the information without the young woman’s consent.

In the post, the actress provided details about how the sexual violence happened. She said she got pregnant despite taking the morningafter pill. Klara also said that this was the most difficult report of her life and that she didn’t want to make the information public, but with the exposure of the case she decided to speak out.

The artist filed a lawsuit against Fontenelle to withdraw the presenter’s statements about her from YouTube. However, on July 18, Judge Flávia Viveiro de Castro of Barra’s 2nd Civil Court denied the request on the grounds that it would be “a kind of censorship” and that the judiciary could not do it. The lawsuit is now continuing with a request for compensation of R$ 100,000 for moral damages.
