Without promising anything, Bruna Marquezine and Xolo Maridueña made noise on the Thunder stage. The two surprisingly took to the main stage of the CCXP early in the afternoon to promote Blue Beetle, a new DC movie based on the Latin American hero.
Marquezine’s presence infected the public, and Xolo also loved by the Netflix series Cobra Kai scratched a Portuguese and showed the first teaser poster of the film planned for 2023. Still short and with little news, the duo’s moment on stage was quite lively, already raising fan expectations for the feature.
While the Netflix panel was packed with highlyanticipated attractions, it left a lot to be desired. The presentation lasted about 3 hours and ended up being repetitive and a little boring.
The moments when stars Noah Centineo (from “Recruit”), Kit Connor and Joe Locke (from “Heartstopper”), and Jenna Ortega and Gwendoline Christie (from “Wandinha”) appeared in front of the audience, which led to lots of screams and some funny moments merits in their own right, who showed a lot of sympathy and seemed happy to meet the Brazilians. The big problem is that the panel script lacked interaction with those present. For a few moments it felt like listening to a long lecture.
For postapocalypticists, The Last of Us panel was the afternoon’s biggest moment. The new HBO Max series, based on Naughty Dog’s game of the same name, released a new trailer, and the protagonists Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey saw the excitement of the fans first hand.
Neil Druckmann, creator of the game, said the aim is to make a series that stays true to the base material but also has the freedom to create and expand on the existing world. Pascal and Ramsey couldn’t single out the most emotional moment of filming the season, but they did point out that it’s been an intense journey. The series starts on January 15th.
During the Amazon Prime Video panel, Ismael Cruz Córdova, who stars as Elf Arondir in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, recalled the criticism he received for being a Puerto Rican AfroLatin artist, and some fans did not accept this selection.
“You must know that online there have been terrible attacks against me and my character from all over the world but from Brazil I have received only the warmest love,” he said in Portuguese.
Actor Keanu Reeves was also one of the highlights of the day. He was in the panel of the film “John Wick 4: Baba Yaga” which is due to be released on March 23, 2023.
