KBS 2TV’s new historical drama “Korea-Khitan War” is off to a good start!
On November 11, the ambitious new series starring ZE:A’s Kim Dong Jun – a special project celebrating KBS’s 50th anniversary – premiered to promising ratings. According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode of “Korea-Khitan War” achieved an average rating of 5.5 percent nationwide.
tvN’s “Castaway Diva,” which airs in the same time slot as “Korea-Khitan War,” saw a decline in viewership due to this new competition from KBS. After hitting an all-time high of 8.0 percent in its previous episode last week, “Castaway Diva” fell to an average national rating of 5.4 percent that night, although it still ranked first in its time slot on all cable channels documented.
Meanwhile, MBC’s hit historical romance “My Dearest” averaged 11.6 percent nationally before last week and took first place in its time slot across all channels by an overwhelming margin.
Even among the core group of 20 to 49-year-old viewers, “My Dearest” was the most-watched program ever that was broadcast on Saturday, achieving an average audience rating of 4.2 percent.
SBS’s “The Escape of the Seven,” which shares a time slot with “My Dearest,” maintained its national average rating of 5.2 percent from last night.
JTBC’s “Strong Girl Namsoon” ranked first in its time slot across all cable channels with an average national rating of 7.6 percent, while MBN’s new drama “Perfect Marriage Revenge” achieved a national average of 1.6 percent in its fifth episode.
Finally, KBS 2TV’s “Live Your Own Life” continued to be the most-watched program on Saturday with a national average rating of 15.5 percent.
