South Korean actor Lee Sunkyun from the film “Parasite” was found dead in South Korea on Tuesday evening (26) and Wednesday morning (27), according to Portal. Lee was 48 years old and played Park Dongik, the father of a wealthy family, in the Oscarwinning feature film.

Lee was found unconscious next to charcoal briquettes in a car in a park in Seoul, the South Korean capital, after his manager reported to police that the actor had left his home and left behind what looked like a suicide note.

The actor was investigated over allegations of illegal drug use amid a government crackdown on drugs. Police interviewed Lee three times, with one session over the weekend lasting 19 hours.

During interrogation, the actor said he was tricked into taking drugs by a bar hostess who tried to blackmail him, Yonhap news agency reported.

Born in 1975, Lee has also played leading roles in South Korean films, including the 2012 thriller “Helpless” and 2014's “All About My Wife,” among others.
