The recent outbreak of violence in northern Kosovo, with at least four deaths, continues to worry international politics. Over the weekend, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, the Foreign Ministry in Berlin and other stakeholders warned Serbia not to send troops to the Kosovo border.

The Kosovo government, among others, had already stated that this was happening on a large scale. US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby also warned that “an unprecedented deployment” of Serbian artillery, tanks and mechanized infantry units was being observed in the border area. It is a “large Serbian military presence”.
