It looks like Bo and Hope’s epic love story will continue after all.
Peacock announced Monday that Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem, the Days of Our Lives spin-off, will return with five new episodes (airing Monday, July 11 through Friday, July 15), which also include Days icons Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso will be featured.
Reckell and Alfonso will reprise their roles as fan favorites Bo and Hope – which is a big surprise given that Bo technically died in 2015. As you will recall, Bo was held captive for several years and reunited with Hope only to die in her arms from a brain tumor he never knew he had.
Additionally, Alfonso left Days of Our Lives in 2020 after 37 years amid a contract dispute, saying at the time, “I think that chapter is closed and a new one needs to be started.” The split wasn’t exactly amicable, either: Alfonso snapped that “Days of Our Lives in recent years are not the Days of Our Lives as I know them”.
The new Beyond Salem story will span the globe, from Monte Carlo to Hong Kong, as popular characters from the OG series “trade the comforts of home for the adventure of a lifetime,” according to the official synopsis. Over the course of the five-episode epic, “heartwarming family reunions take a dangerous turn when a mysterious adversary ravages their lives. The next chapter of Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem is a story filled with larger-than-life romance, breathtaking twists and dramatic drama—all building into a storyline that long-time Days of Our Lives fans will surely remember.”
“We are beyond thrilled to be working with Peacock again to produce a second chapter of Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem,” executive producer Ken Corday said in a statement. “The opportunity to build upon the storylines of Days of Our Lives to create another exciting series for audiences brings me, the Corday Productions team and the cast such joy. Can’t wait for fans to see what we have in store next!”
