The big winner of Star Academy in 2022, Krystel Mongeau revealed on Friday the first excerpt from her debut album, expected next winter.
The simple Un nouveau jour is an original song by Steve Main, composed by Gautier Marinof and Jérôme Couture. It was produced by Jay Lefebvre, Dimitri Lebel-Alexandre and Steve Marin.

Krystel Mongeau’s work will be entirely in French and will consist mainly of original pieces, most of which will be co-written by the artist, who in the process discovered this new talent as a songwriter.
From what we know, and the first excerpt proves it, although not by Krystel Mongeau, the tracks in the work will all be country-pop inspired.
“A few months ago I received a great gift from Gautier Marinof and Jérôme Couture, a great song composed especially for me. The song immediately touched me with its catchy melody, but also with its message. “A New Day” addresses so well the fact that achieving our goals and dreams in life sometimes comes with failure. I hope that this song gives people hope that nothing is impossible and that when a new day finally dawns, everything is always more beautiful,” said Krystel Mongeau.

“A New Day is a hymn to renewal,” said Steve Marin, who is also the album’s artistic director. A pop anthem with rock accents, rich in very engaging vocal harmonies and a catchy melody in which Krystel and her voice demonstrate a perfect mastery of emotions. A new day is also a new sound that will establish itself on provincial radio stations and in the French-speaking pop/country universe!”
