Moscow continues to refuse to show images of the bodies of Ukrainian prisoners apparently killed when a Russian Il-76 military aircraft was shot down over Belgorod on January 24. This was emphasized today by the head of Ukrainian military intelligence, Kyrilo Budanov.
“The Russian position is clear. They blame the Ukrainians for everything. However, there are many things that are not clear. First, they didn't show pictures of bodies and remains of the plane, which is what they should have done. Blame the Ukrainians as much as possible. If it happened like Russia says, why do they continue to hide the bodies for days? They could have shown them to the whole world and said: Look, the Ukrainians are murderers. But “There are no bodies, there is nothing,” he said. said Budanov, quoted by Ukrainska Pravda.
According to Moscow, Kiev forces fired two rockets at a Russian plane with 74 people on board, including 64 Ukrainian soldiers, ahead of a prisoner exchange. Ukrainian sources say the plane was carrying S-300 missiles, but they do not rule out that it could be carrying both missiles and people. Kiev confirmed that a prisoner exchange was planned that day, but it did not take place. But no one had informed the Ukrainians that the prisoners would arrive on this plane, unlike previous exchange operations.
