Womens hockey a fourth straight setback for the Force

La Force welcomes two new players

La Force de Montréal announced on Friday the addition of two players: Audrey-Anne Veillette and Rosalie Bégin-Cyr.

The two newcomers have signed a one-year contract.

The two forwards from the Université de Montréal Carabins and the Concordia Stingers respectively won gold at the Universiade with Canada earlier this year.

Originally from Drummondville, Veillette received the title of Player of the Season from the Réseau du sport sportif du Québec (RSEQ).

A native of Saint-Georges-de-Beauce, Bégin-Cyr helped the Stingers win the 2021-2022 USports National Championship.

Two returns

In addition, the force has also confirmed the return of recruits Jade Downie-Landry and Brigitte Laganière, who have signed new two-year contracts.

“The free agent season has been outstanding for Montreal. We’re looking forward to our first real off-season and want to improve everything, both on and off the ice. We have many surprises ahead of us for our fans,” team president Kevin Raphaël said in a statement.

“Everyone is working hard to improve and take the Force to the next level. We can feel her passion and energy and know how much she means to all our players, which is inspirational for the upcoming season,” he added.
