La Poche Bleue welcomes Les Boys to ComediHa!: somewhere between hockey and nostalgia

The discussions about the cinema between the makers of the films The young and the podcast people The blue bagduring the franchise’s 25th anniversary special at ComediHa!, were just as interesting and hilarious as the hockey movies.

This special broadcast of the La Poche Bleue podcast at Place Georges-V to mark the 25th anniversary of the Boys’ first film, released in 1997, was somewhere between hockey and nostalgia. Viewership wasn’t that large, but the overall crowd was nice to look at: adults in boys’ shirts, young dads living out that nostalgia with their kids, and also couples who seemed to have had a lot of fun exchanging lines in the films.

Guillaume Latendresse and Maxim Lapierre, two former Montreal Canadiens players and creators of the podcast, couldn’t be more in their element hosting this special. The two men knew every passage of the Les Boys films and, of course, also fueled the discussions about hockey. A successful evening for the duo, which took place in front of an audience for the first time.

The memories of the shoot that Richard Goudreau, the father of the “Boys” concept, listed were all equally delicious. Paul Houde, who played Fernand, the team’s goalie, added a few and also released several surprisingly accurate hockey statistics, such as his character in the popular franchise.

Listening to Mr Goudreau and Mr Houde, it was clear that the shooting of ‘Boys 2’ in Chamonix, France had caused quite a laugh.

Marc Messier also addressed the audience with a short video in which he also spoke about the Boys’ three-week trip to Europe to film the second chapter of the franchise.

After the break, Réal Béland took the stage and spoke about his debut with the legendary garage league team.

“I was completely lost; I didn’t know if we were shooting or not, the guys were so natural on set,” he told the two animators. “I was lucky that I played against the most lost player on the team. »

Michel Charette, the face of yesterday’s grand bien-cuit at the Grand Théâtre de Québec, was also present at the Boys’ special 25th anniversary celebration.

The comedian told viewers how his role as Jean-Lou on the once popular youth series Radio Enfer led to his role as Po-Paule on Les Boys. With the two hosts in addition to Richard Goudreau and Réal Béland, the atmosphere was festive and all the more comical as the evening wore on and the beers were poured.

Three excellent first parts

The audience was warmed up well with three aspiring comedians of different styles.

Christophe Dupéré, who this year attended the ComdeiHa! Gala for the first time! participated, started the third. His jokes about his father, who was a police officer, made the crowd, which numbered several hundred, laugh. His stories about his sex life, which he likens to a costume party, further increased the volume for viewers.

Humor lovers at Place Georges-V also enjoyed listening to ex-varsity footballer Jean-Michel Elie.

Without saying one word higher than the other, the man approached his Haitian origins by talking about his big brothers and big sisters who made life difficult for him as an adult.

Métis comedian Évelyne Roy-Molgat did very well. The 22-year-old rookie got the crowd laughing with melodious gags about her Indigenous background and her reluctance to marry.
