(ANSA) – JERUSALEM, MARCH 06 – “Each time I have knelt symbolically in this place of pain and memory, I have renewed a sense of closeness to the Jewish people and a determination to help ensure that they never again experience such cruel hatred will be given”. This is what Senate President Ignazio La Russa wrote in the memorial book at the end of his visit to Yad Vashem, the mausoleum memorial in Jerusalem. “The gestures are what count – he then said – when you come to this place of remembrance , of remembrance, but also a place of warning”.
