Lacey Chabert gives hope to fans of Party Of Five.
While promoting her latest Hallmark film The Wedding Veil Expectations, the actress admitted she would be in favor of reprising her role as Claudia Salinger for a Party Of Five reunion.
Chabert, now 40, was just 12 when the family drama began its six seasons on Fox, alongside co-stars Neve Campbell (Julia Salinger), Matthew Fox (Charlie Salinger), Scott Wolf (Bailey Salinger) and Jennifer Love Hewitt (Sarah Reeves Merrin).
Speaking of the reunion, Lacey Chabert, now 40, revealed she’d be in for a Party Of Five type reunion when asked during an appearance on Fox’s GoodDay DC; The actress (left) was 12 when she appeared on the family drama show starring Scott Wold, Matthew Fox and Neve Campbell from 1994
Chabert told Fox’ GoodDay DC that she would take the opportunity to revisit her character Claudia more than 22 years after the show ended.
“I don’t know if there would ever be a reunion, but I would love it,” she enthused. “I’m 100 percent, sign up! I would like to know what Claudia is doing.’
The Mississippi native seemed to glow at the thought of a reunion or reboot as she reminisced about her time on the show, which spanned from the age of 12 to her 18th year.
“And you know what’s really nice because that’s been six years of my life, which is a unique experience,” she shared, before fleshing out her experience on a long-running show.
Starpower: Party of Five also starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, who played Sarah Reeves Merrin, Bailey’s (Scott Wolf) sensitive casual girlfriend from high school
“It’s unusual to be in one place for years, you know, and they’re family to me,” Chabert explained. “I’m thinking about who I am today and how much, so much of it, is the result of this wonderful group of people and you know we’re connected and connected forever.”
The drama series revolved around a family of five who are forced to live alone after their parents die in a car accident, with eldest son Charlie appointed guardian to his brothers and sisters
It made stars of Campbell, Fox, Chabert and Wolf previously unknown. Hewitt, who was a guest star, already had a singing career. Thanks to films like “I Know What You Did Last Summer” and the TV series “The Ghost Whisperer” she became the biggest star of the series.
Both Chabert and Neve Campbell found success in film and television after Party Of Five ended in 2000
More TV success: Matthew Fox, 56, later starred in the hit series Lost (2004-2010), which earned him Golden Globe Award and Primetime Emmy Award nominations
Party Of Five won the 1996 Golden Globe Award for Best TV Series – Drama, after which ratings and popularity soared for most of the rest of the series.
While some stars like to put their past roles behind and not talk about them, Chabert admitted she finds it flattering to be remembered for her past characters.
“People ask us that all the time, how does that get old, and it’s like no,” she shared. “Whenever you’re part of a project, do it with the hope that people will resonate with it and that people will love and enjoy it. And when people bring up projects that you did years later, I think that’s a compliment.”
Cast Success: Jennifer Love Hewitt starred in a number of successful films including I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) and its sequel the following year, while Scott Wolf found more success on television and films
