Lady Chatterley’s Lovers FIRST SEE: Emma Corrin and Jack O’Connell star in new movie

Netflix bosses have released the first look images of the sensual new film adaptation of DH Lawrence’s classic novel Lady Chatterley’s Lover.

As the text was notoriously banned at the time of its initial publication in 1928, the book and film tells a radical love story and portrays a woman learning to take control of her own body and desires and against the constraints of class struggles and status to find their own freedom.

1920s actress Emma Corrin, 26, is seen in period attire in the newly released stills as she plays Lady Chatterley opposite her flame Oliver Mellors, portrayed by Jack O’Connell, 32.

Matthew Duckett also stars as Sir Clifford Chatterley in the flick, which hits theaters on Friday November 25th and on Netflix on Friday December 2nd.

“When she meets and falls in love with Oliver Mellors, the game warden on the Chatterley family estate, their secret rendezvous lead to a sensual, sexual awakening.

“But when her affair becomes the subject of local rumor, Connie faces a life-changing choice: follow her heart or go back to her husband and endure what Edwardian society expects of her.”

The last film adaptation of Lady Chatterley’s Lover was in 2015 and starred Borgias star Holliday Grainger in the title role, Game of Thrones’ Richard Madden as her gamekeeper lover and Happy Valley’s James Norton as her husband.

After its release, however, some viewers complained that despite shirtless scenes from Madden, there wasn’t enough nudity, and some took to Twitter to call it “tame.”

He is mortified to learn that his wife has fallen in love with gamekeeper Oliver Mellors and is carrying his child.

In the 2015 adaptation, Lord Chatterley grants his wife a divorce so that she can marry Mellors. But in the novel, he refuses and Constance moves in with her sister.

Other adaptations include the 1993 BBC series starring Sean Bean and Joely Richardson, which was much hotter.

Lady Chatterley’s Lover was also brought to the big screen in 1981, starring Sylvia Kristel and Nicholas Clay.

First published in Italy in 1928, Lawrence’s book was subsequently banned in Britain before becoming the first novel to be tested under the Obscene Publications Act 1959 for frequent use of the word “f***” and its derivatives.

A full unabridged edition was finally published at the Old Bailey in 1960 after a six-day trial in which publisher Penguin was prosecuted for obscenity.
