King Charles would have revealed a terrible truth to Lady Diana that would have been difficult for anyone to accept. Here’s what it is.
One of the saddest stories about the royal family is surely that of Charles and Dianaa, the former Princes and Princesses of Wales who couldn’t have been more different but ended up spending most of their lives together as husband and wife.

An announced marriage, that of Lady D and Carlo, strongly desired by Queen Elizabeth. In fact, the former sovereign of England wanted her son to have a younger, pure, sweet and innocent woman by his side. A girl, then, who would have been able to stay a step behind him and support him wholeheartedly throughout his reign. We know that things didn’t go as planned afterwards. Diana turned out to be a much stronger, rebellious and determined woman than expected and Carlo did not have an easy life with her. But lately a backstory has surfaced on their relationship, which could not leave indifferent the fans of the “Sad Princess”.

Shortly before marrying Diana, Charles would have betrayed his future bride never really loved her and that he never felt the enthusiasm for her that had always linked him to Camilla Parker Bowles instead.

Revealing this unpublished background would have been the astrologer Penny Thornton in the ITV documentary The Diana Interview: Revenge of a Princess. Thornton had long been Lady Diana’s confidant, and the princess turned to her when she was in particular trouble.
“One of the most shocking things Diana told me was that the night before the wedding, Prince Charles told her he didn’t love her,” Thornton admitted. A tremendous pain for the then still very young Diana, who was very much in love instead of Carlo, although the prince was 12 years older than her and had much more experience in the sentimental field.
However, this revelation was only the beginning of Diana’s ordeal within the royal family. Until 1997, the year of her death, the princess never had the support of anyone in the family and for years, before her divorce from Carlo, she was forced to bear it secret relationship her husband with Camilla. A clearly unsustainable situation that also led to her developing feeding problems. On her side, the beautiful sad princess had only the English people, who always adored her and who received the news of her untimely death with great sadness.
