Paul Fasswho served as the late Princess Diana’s most trusted butler for 10 years, revealed to the media that he has a lot of information to share with Princes William and Harry and that he makes sure they both have the right to know all the secrets, the princess shared him, because Princess Diana would have liked it if her children had always been together.
Preparing for surgery for prostate cancer, ex-butler Burrell becomes obsessed with the idea that time is running out to tell the estranged brothers “the truth.”
“I know some things aren’t pretty, but if I leave this place and go to another, they’ll never know. I think they should know. My illness has focused my attention on telling children things before it’s too late to tell them what they really need to know,” Paul told the Daily Mirror newspaper.
Burrell affirmed that he believes the time is right for his children to learn what he knows: “‘Paul, you have to make this a priority. You have to go to my boys.” She has confided in me and there are many things I have never spoken about but now I feel the time is right.
The 64-year-old former assistant wants to do his part in helping William and Harry reconcile and believes what he has to say could do just that: “I think what I have to say could uniting the children, which Diana would have desperately wanted.”
Burrell emphasized, “I’m just going to tell you the truth. I’m not looking for anything in return. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see the guys improve their relationship? That would please the public. I would appreciate that. I would love to see William put his arm around his brother but I don’t think we’ll see it because there are too many bumps in the way.”
The former butler is particularly keen to sit down with the Prince of Wales: “To fill in the blanks of those missing years in his head.” Paul assured that he could answer anything that happened while William was at school; “I just want to tell the truth. Some truth may be difficult, but if you don’t know, you are uninformed.”
He added: “There are things that have happened in your mother’s world that you may not be aware of. And I think it might fill in some of the gaps. If we ever sat down, I would say to William, ‘That’s it
inside these walls and will never come out.
