Lana Del Ray has expressed her desire to become a mother following her “shocking” split from Evan Winiker.
The 38-year-old singer said she has “more to explore” in the world as she detailed her plans to have children.
In an interview with the Sunday Times Culture magazine, she said: “That’s why God hasn’t given me children yet.” Because there’s more to discover.
“I know people who have tested every water. It burned her, like Icarus. But I’m ready to go there.’
The musician further confirmed that she certainly envisions becoming a mother one day, adding: “I see it coming for me.” We’ll see. We’ll see what makes the wings melt.’
Lana Del Ray (pictured in March) has expressed her desire to become a mother following her “shocking” split from Evan Winiker
Lana recently insisted she is currently single after it was reported earlier this year that she was engaged to Evan, the talent agency’s managing partner.
Speaking to Harper’s BAZAAR’s Dec/Jan Art Issue, Lana shared that she’s “definitely not in love” at the moment as she confirmed her single status.
Her words may come as a shock to fans after it was claimed in March that Lana wanted to marry Evan, 40, when she was spotted wearing a diamond ring.
However, it appears that Lana and Evan have now gone their separate ways, with Lana referencing the split during the conversation.
When asked about being in love, Lana replied: “I’m definitely not in love at the moment.” No,” she says firmly and smiles. “Absolutely not in love.” I was, but no.’
When asked if it was something she wanted, Lana said, “Well, I’ll tell you.” It hasn’t occurred to me in the last five months on the road or here. But give it a week.
“My story, of course, it will overwhelm me at some point. Yes. It would be interesting if that wasn’t the case. It would be interesting if that wasn’t the case.’
Lana said she hopes to decide where in the world she wants to be before focusing on dating.
The 38-year-old singer said she has “more to explore” in the world as she detailed her plans to have children (pictured in July).
She said, “That’s why God hasn’t given me children yet.” Because there’s more to discover. I see it coming for me. We will see. We’ll see what causes the wings to melt.
She said, “I think I would have to orient myself to where in my solar plexus I want to be stronger geographically, like a knowing there, before I can align romantically with a stronger desire.”
“Because if you don’t necessarily feel a connection to the sidewalk you’re walking on, the love stays over there,” she says, waving to the world beyond her garden.
While Lana didn’t name the ex-boyfriend and later confirmed she wasn’t referring to Evan, she went on to say that a recent relationship of hers failed because of her “modest” home in Los Angeles.
She said: “I feel like even the most laid-back guy doesn’t really want to relax here.” Unfortunately, part of you knows… that’s not it. … That shocked me.
“I’m not going to name names and whatever, but this person really shocked me. “It was actually the end of a relationship.”
Lana’s relationship with Evan reportedly began a few months before the romance was confirmed, and she debuted a gorgeous diamond sparkler at the Billboard Women In Music Awards on March 1.
A musician himself, Evan is close to his Steel Train bandmate Jack Antonoff, who is a frequent collaborator with Del Rey and worked on her new album Did You Know There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.
The Summertime Sadness singer was most recently linked to 33-year-old musician Jack Donaghue, who is a member of the electronic band Salem.
Lana and Jack have reportedly been seeing each other since early 2022, but she remained silent about the relationship and the exact timing of their split remains unclear.
Before her affair with Donaghue, the superstar was in a relationship with 34-year-old country singer Clayton Johnson.
The couple reportedly met on a dating app in 2020 and were said to have gotten engaged later that year before going their separate ways – a split that was never addressed by Del Rey.
The singer’s relationship history also includes Scottish singer-songwriter Barrie-James O’Neill (2011-2014), Italian photographer Francesco Carrozzini (2014-2015), a brief relationship with rapper G-Eazy in 2017 and a whirlwind romance with real-life cop Sean “Sticks” Larkin (2019-2020).
Speaking to Rolling Stone in 2014, the hitmaker said she had “an affinity for really good, strong, confident people.”
And the “Born to Die” singer loves being in a relationship, telling Harper’s Bazaar that she likes to “come home and have someone there.”
