Garage Italia Customs unveiled an unprecedented all-electric Vespa 50 Special-e, named after Giovannino Agnelli, during Milan Design Week. «I am very happy to present the Garage Italia Customs Special-e, because for me the Vespa is not just a style and design icon. In fact, I am very attached to Piaggio through my deep affection for my cousin Giovanni Alberto Agnelli, who was the company’s president in the 1990s. I dedicate this latest creation from Garage Italia to him. A childhood memory also connects me to the Pontedera company: I was a worker for a few weeks when I was 17,” explained Lapo Elkann.

“With the Vespa 50 Special-e we shot straight into the hearts of lovers of the Italian turtleneck: through a design in continuity with the great success of Spiaggina, Vespa continues to reinforce its storytelling and presents itself to the summer with freshness, color and our typical Italian touch. The Vespa 50 Special-e can now be pre-ordered through the official channels of Garage Italia Customs», explains CEO Sergio Esposito.
Garage Italia’s historic Piazzale Accursio headquarters was the stage for the presentation of the previously announced Spider Duetto Hybrid. Conceived two years ago in terms of rendering, it took shape by applying typical creative experimentation from concept to product to an example of a 1992 injection molded 2000cc Duetto. In collaboration with renowned excellences of Made in Italy – including Poltrona Frau, RM, Sonus Faber and D-Tales – it has been transformed into a hybrid car thanks to an exclusive KERS system powered by Newtron.
