Lara Trump has predicted her father-in-law Donald Trump’s mugshot will be featured on posters, dorm rooms and flags of “people who love this country.”

The former president is scheduled to be taken to the Fulton County jail in Atlanta on Thursday after he faces charges in Georgia over his alleged role in trying to overturn the 2020 election.

He and 18 other defendants were indicted on August 14 by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on RICO and other charges.

Lara, who is married to his son Eric Trump, said it was ridiculous to think someone as famous as Trump needed a mug shot. She believes it’s designed to embarrass the former president, but believes it will backfire and the picture will be used as a show of support.

This comes after the judge leading the former president’s case ruled that cameras should be allowed in the courtroom for his indictment – if the defendants file a plea, and that will likely be after Labor Day.

Lara appeared on Newsmax Wednesday to speak about the charges against her father-in-law on Thursday in Atlanta.

Presenter Rob Schmitt said: “I’m really excited to see what he’s going to do with this mugshot.”

“I think he should just smile from ear to ear like he’s the biggest middle finger ever.”

She replied, “It’s absurd to think that Donald Trump, one of the most famous people in the world, if not the most famous in the world, would ever need one.”

“But we know the goal of this ad is to embarrass him in some way.”

Lara believes Trump’s mug shot will gain followers and motivate people to vote for him in the upcoming presidential election.

“But I think it’s going to backfire for them, like everything else,” she added.

“It’s going to be on billboards and in people’s dormitories.” It’s going to be on t-shirts. It will be a flag raised by people who love this country because they support Donald Trump.

“They understand how important this is.” They understand how absurd this all is. And that is exactly why they will get behind him and vote for him in 2024.”

Fulton County Superior Court Justice Scott McAfee on Tuesday granted a motion to allow four local television stations to bring cameras and recording equipment into his courtroom through Sept. 8.

His order did not specify whether the cameras would be allowed during the trial.

According to The Hill, District Attorney Willis is considering holding the arraignment of all defendants in the week after Labor Day.

It would be the first time one of Trump’s criminal trials would be televised around the world.

Trump called Willis “a runaway and very corrupt district attorney” and said the indictment was part of a “witch hunt.”

The case – which relies on RICO laws normally used to kill gangsters – is the fourth against the 77-year-old Republican this year and could lead to a game-changer, the first televised trial of a former president in the history of the USA.

John Dean, who was Richard Nixon’s White House attorney before he turned himself in, testified against him and helped overthrow him, told CNN the allegations against Trump were “much more serious than Watergate’s.”

Trump was indicted along with 18 others – Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, Mark Meadows, Ken Cheseboro, Jeffrey Clark, Jenna Ellis, Ray Smith III, Robert Cheeley, Michael Roman, David Shafer, Shawn Still, Stephen Lee, Harrison Floyd, Trevian Kutti , Sidney Powell, Cathleen Latham, Scott Hall and Misty Hampton.

Willis said she wanted to try them all at the same time. They have until noon on August 25 to turn themselves in or an arrest warrant will be issued.

There are also 30 “uncharged co-conspirators” – people accused of involvement in the conspiracy but who are not named or charged.
