To do that with Arrow McLaren and Mr. Hendrick is a dream come true. I’m grateful for the opportunity and I’m really looking forward to it, even if it’s still about a year and a half. I’m really looking forward to competing in both the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 and maybe even getting a win or two that day.”
The acquisition of the California short track legend to compete alongside 2016 Indy 500 winner Alexander Rossi, championship leader Pato O’Ward and 2021 IndyCar title winner Alex Palou, who is expected to finish at the end of the season will join the team. will make Arrow McLaren a betting favorite at the speedway.
“The addition of Kyle Larson to the Indy 500 roster in 2024 with a HendrickCars.com partnership is exciting for both our Arrow McLaren team and race fans,” said Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing. “He’s a complete driver who’s known for doing everything on wheels, so I’m looking forward to seeing what Kyle can do in an NTT IndyCar Series car. It’s been great working with Rick Hendrick and (Hendrick Motorsports Vice Chairman) Jeff Gordon to bring this together, so a big thank you to them for what’s to come in May 2024.”
Hosting Hendrick Motorsports will see two of Chevy’s top teams unite in May 2024.
“Having the opportunity to support Kyle, work with an elite team like Arrow McLaren and promote HendrickCars.com at one of the biggest auto races in the world is truly unique,” said Hendrick. “We are all competitors. It was important to put Kyle in top-notch gear and give him adequate time to prepare for such a difficult challenge. It will be very special for a car owner to start a Chevrolet at the Indy 500. A collaboration like this was what we needed to make it happen and thankfully the stars aligned. We are 100% committed to getting it right and look forward to working with Zak and his organization.”
