LaSalle: A meeting for an online transaction goes wrong

Two men were taken to a hospital after being followed by a car and attacked during a meeting following an online transaction in LaSalle Sunday night.

According to Mariane Allaire Morin, spokeswoman for the Montreal Police Service (SPVM), the incident, a robbery followed by an armed attack and a hit-and-run, occurred at around 11:50 p.m. Sunday night at the corner of Angrignon and Newman boulevards. .
An online transaction via social networks would be the starting point of the meeting.
The victims, five young men under the age of 20, wanted to flee the scene in their vehicle, but were followed by at least one suspicious vehicle.
The victim’s vehicle would have veered off the road before hitting a tree, likely causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle was badly damaged and the fallen tree blocked traffic.
The suspect then allegedly attacked two of the five victims, aged 16 and 19, who were then taken to a hospital where there was no fear for their lives.
The crime scene was protected and SPVM investigators went to the scene to determine the causes and circumstances of the event.
