The armed attack occurred around 11:50 p.m. near the intersection of Newman and Angrignon boulevards in the LaSalle district.
An online transaction was the starting point for the meeting of a group of five young men, all under 20 years old.
For unknown reasons, the victims tried to flee the scene in their car, but were followed by another suspicious vehicle.
“The driver of the victim’s vehicle lost control and crashed into a tree,” said Caroline Chèvrefils, spokeswoman for the Montreal Police Department.
At that point, the suspect allegedly injured two of the five victims, aged 16 and 19, with a knife or sharp object. The youths were taken to a hospital, but there is no fear for their lives.
The suspect is said to have fled, so far no arrests have been made. The scene has been protected for investigators who will try to shed light on the circumstances of the event.
