Despite the hot days ahead, the city is opening certain municipal swimming pools for the last time this summer this Monday, September 4th.
All water features will remain open in all parts of the city from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day beyond September 4th.
Quebec City recommends people at risk of heat, those working outside, children and seniors to drink fluids regularly, cover their heads and keep their homes cool by closing the curtains.
The Marina Saint-Roch, the Gérard-Guay swimming pool, the Maria-Goretti swimming pool, the Giffard swimming pool and the La Découverte outdoor swimming pool will be open on Monday September 4th.
In addition, some city libraries will be open on this Labor Day. “The population finds a quiet place there, protected from the heat,” says the city. The other libraries will resume their usual opening hours from September 5th.
Libraries open on Monday September 4th: Saint-Roch Leisure Center (La Cité-Limoilou), Collège-des-Jésuites (La Cité-Limoilou), Étienne-Parent (Beauport), Félix-Leclerc (La Haute-Saint-Charles) , Monique-Corriveau (Sainte-Foy–Sillery–Cap-Rouge), Paul-Aimé-Paiement (Charlesbourg) and Romain-Langlois (Les Rivières).
