“Last Generation” activists make an “offer” to the airline Lufthansa.
Members of the “Last Generation” group made an “offer” to Lufthansa, AUA’s parent company, following claims for compensation due to protest actions. Climate activists announced on Monday that they were willing to pay the requested €740,000 in damages. In return, Lufthansa would have to pay the annual social costs of CO2 emissions. According to activists, often called “climate glue”, this represents around six billion euros per year.
According to German media reports over the weekend, the Lufthansa Group is demanding compensation from the group of around 740,000 euros. The backdrop is disturbing actions by members of the group, who paralyzed the airports of Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Berlin for hours. In all three actions, members of the group were arrested after becoming trapped on the tracks. Police have started investigations against people who are now eligible for compensation claims.
