Last Week of Pantanal: Fantastic goes behind the scenes to find a united team already missing the soap opera

For more than six months, the audience was immersed in the fascinating, poetic universe of Benedito Ruy Barbosa and Bruno Luperi. And the story, which was a success in 1990, once again enchanted Brazil.

Now come the final emotions. What can we expect from the last Pantanal week? the reporter Renate Capucci visited backstage to find a united team that was already missing the soap opera.

“How will you exceed the expectation of the memory of those who lived in the ’90s? How will you overcome the memory of those who loved Pantanal? I thought it was a waste of time,” emphasizes Murilo Benício (Tenório).

“It’s a classic, and a classic is risky, isn’t it? Because you’ll be working on something that people love,” recalls Dira Paes (Filó).

“The original goal was to pay tribute to my grandfather and his work and honor the legacy he also left, and one surprise along the way is seeing the impact this soap opera has had. The way the audience accepted the telenovela, the characters, the plot,” says Bruno Luperi, author of the telenovela.

Renate Capucci: We feel so close to you because of this soap opera. Are you sure you can feel it on the street?
Jose Loreto: totally. I walk down the street, people like that touch me, they say: “Hey, let go of your hand Tadeuzinho, marry a man”. It seems like everyone feels a little bit of the pain and happiness of our characters, it’s very, very natural.

And it’s not as if the young woman who provided the lyrics for the actors in the first version of the soap opera in 1990 now coordinates the team and the entire production.

“It’s like a cycle that closes itself. And that’s what I feel, a completeness with this soap opera that always makes me very emotional,” says Andrea Keller, executive producer.
