Baker Mayfield is on his way to Cleveland, and the quarterback is beginning to give his opinion on the whole situation. After being pushed into the trading bloc following the Browns takeover Deshaun WatsonMayfield explained that he felt disrespected throughout the ordeal.

“I feel 100% disrespected because I was told one thing and they did a completely different one,” Mayfield said during his appearance on Ya Neva Know: You Know What I Mean?. Podcast (via Nate Ulrich from Akron Beacon Journal). “I’m right in the middle of that. And you know what? OK. I got the taste because in four years I’ve had four different head coaches, a bunch of different coordinators. I’ve had highs and they keep coming back.”
Mayfield is referring to comments made by Andrew Berry in January, when the GM said he fully expects the previous first overall pick for Cleveland in 2022 to be under middle. It wasn’t specifically said that the Browns would definitely not be in next season may occur if Mayfield is still on the roster.
We recently heard that the Browns have been struggling to find a suitor for Mayfield, but CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora notes that neither side wants these tensions to continue well into the offseason. In fact, the reporter believes we may get a solution in the coming weeks. So where might Mayfield end up? The quarterback has a few theories of his own.
“Um…Seattle?” Mayfield said during his podcast appearance (via Seattle Times’ Bob Condotta). “I mean it would probably be the most likely option. But even then I have no idea.”
