Six nonprofit organizations shared a total of $250,000 during the special transfer The goose that lays golden eggs presented on Sunday while Laurent Duvernay-Tardif was there.
To mark the occasion, we highlighted the global generosity movement Giving Tuesday and the episode was part of Loto-Québec’s “We profit from getting back” charity program.
Each contestant had to choose the organization they wanted to join and to which the state corporation would make a donation equal to the amount won during the show, up to a maximum of $100,000.
Each organization was represented on set, which explains the presence of Laurent Duvernay-Tardif. This is because Charles-Émile Raby from Saint-André-Avellin in Outaouais chose the Laurent Duvernay-Tardif Foundation. Since Mr. Raby won $16,500 while playing, this amount will be donated to the foundation founded by the kind doctor and football player.
France Bourgon, from Saint-Amable in Montérégie, chose the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation, where her husband received excellent care. The foundation will receive a donation of $47,000.
Josée Courchesne from Saint-Ambroise in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean has teamed up with the Fondation Santé Jonquière. It is a $100,000 donation that will be divided between the four CHSLDs in the region at the winner’s request.
Monique Larivière from Maniwaki in Outaouais had chosen Leucan, which will receive a donation of $8,500.
Louise Léonard from La Minerve in the Laurentians chose Signée Femmes de Rivière-Rouge, who will receive a donation of $58,000.
Finally, Noëlla Therrien and Claude Desrochers from Trois-Rivières in Mauricie selected the organization Multiple Sclerosis Canada, Mauricie Region. The organization will receive a donation of $22,000.
During the December 3 episode at 5:30 p.m. on TVA, the jackpot of “The Goose That Lays the Golden Eggs” will reach $1,275,000.
