Laurentides: Police operation leads to arrest and confiscation of cannabis

A 34-year-old man was arrested during a police operation, and several kilograms of cannabis, hashish, cannabis powder and equipment were also confiscated.

The operation was carried out by the smuggling investigation team in collaboration with police officers from MRC des Laurentides station as part of the ACCÈS cannabis program, the Sûreté du Québec said in a press release on Thursday.

Police also arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with the manufacture, possession and possession for the purpose of distributing illegal cannabis. He faces charges under the Cannabis Act and Narcotics Act.

He was later released and is expected to return at a later date for further trials at the Saint-Jérôme courthouse.

A search was carried out on the Chemin du Lac Rossignol in Lac Supérieur, seizing more than 23 kilograms of bulk/pot cannabis, more than 260 cannabis plants, more than 280 grams of hashish and more than 70 grams of cannabis powder and equipment found at used in the manufacture of cannabis.
